Tangerine Tango: Go Bold or Go Home.

There are so many ways to use Tangerine Tango - 2012 Color of the Year. One of the most obvious is, of course, wall color. But are you brave enough? This year's color is anything but subtle. On the contrary, it speaks boldly of energy, attitude, and desire. In reality, I think there are probably very few who would have the courage to make the first brush stroke...
But remember, you don't have to paint the entire room this fiery shade of orange...there are other ways. Here are a few examples...

Rather than painting the entire room orange, consider painting only an accent wall, like the one here. Paint the remaining walls a neutral shade. Notice how the boldness of the wall color here is softened by the white upholstered headboard, white bedding and the fabric panels flanking the bed.

Another option is to use this color on the lower or upper part of the wall. This works well particularly if you have a chair rail.

If you prefer not to use orange on your walls, why not bring a little extra life to your ceiling? I love this room! If you're not sure about using two bold colors like these together, consider painting your ceiling red-orange and use a neutral (gray would look great!) on the walls.

Don't forget the endless possibilites for using this color for kids' spaces. I am loving the circus tent effect in this room!!

Have you used a shade of red-orange in your home? If so, I love to hear about it!
Have an inspired day!
