Pantone's Color of the Year 2012!!!

Color forecasting company, Pantone, just released the 2012 Color of the Year! And guess what? It's a vibrant, sassy shade of orange (with hints of red) called Tangerine Tango. There are so many ways to take advantage of this "pop - y" color and this week we'll be exploring them. In the meantime, here are a few gems that make me want to tango!!

Organizing Finds!!

In the midst of reorganizing, you might just find that you need additional "small storage." Here are a few gems I found recently...

I love this chevron storage tote from Etsy. It's perfect for storing small items on shelves.

I think these are perfect for small toy storage! Kids aren't as likely to play with what they can't readily see, and these translucent totes from The Container Store solve that problem.

And of course, you can always find everything chic at Target, right? I have several of these seagrass baskets. They are absolutely perfect.

This vintage milk crate is also from Target.

Organizing Tips for 2012: Emptying over Rearranging

Over the past week, I've been in the process of organization overhaul of our downstairs. I'm going to share the transformation with you later this month, but today's tip has come in quite handy for me during this process, so here it is:

{When organizing a particular closet or set of shelves, etc., completely empty it out first!!!}

That's it. Simple, I know. BUT - you will be surprised at how tempting it is to just start rearranging. But no matter how well you rearrange things, the result will never be as good as if you empty first.

The empty closet or shelf somehow gives you a fresh new look at things, and you aren't limited by any existing organizational boundaries. In fact, you may decide that that box of tableware or extra bed linens doesn't belong in that particular closet at all!

Don't just rearrange...empty!!
