This week, I decided to restyle an old lamp. I came across it locally - it was completely functional but came without a shade. As you can see, there is nothing particularly wrong with the lamp. It is rather traditional; and in many settings, it would probably work well.
However, my personal style is more transitional. I love to mix traditional lines with contemporary colors, fabrics, and patterns. And I LOVE color!!! So, I started by spray painting the entire lamp a buttery yellow and then hand painted the black accents. A black lamp shade completes the look. It took me one naptime (I measure most things in naptimes now. It's hard to really complete a project with an awake, active 3 year old!). It was easy - and yet what a difference!!
What about you? Do you have old vases, lamps, chandeliers, tables, or chairs around the house that need a facelift? If you would like for me to give them a new look and feature them on "Drab to Fab Friday," email me.
